2.Your 2nd step I would recommend after you sign up with Clickbank would be to find a couple of products to promote. look at the sales pages, would this be a product I would take out my wallet and purchase? If the answer to this question is yes. Then by all means start promoting it. Clickbank will give you your own personal nickname, that you will come up with when you sign up for free to become an affiliate! This is your personal link that you use that Clickbank can track so you get your much deserved Affiliate commissions. Play around with a couple of your favorite vendors see which ones are profitable and are making you the most sales. 3. Finding free places to promote your Affiliate Products- Your next step I would tell you is to make some classified ads, for whatever products you are promoting. My favorites are U.S Free Ads, Craigslist, and Kijiji that is the classifieds owned by Ebay. There are many more you can use, these are just my personal favorites in that order. Most will allow you to place your affiliate link in your classified ad or website link so you can refer a paying customer. And make that money tip: Use a good title on each ad- this is very important! Because when the search engines index your classified ad your goal should be to get to the first page of Google for whatever your title is.
4. Write informative Articles- Their are many great Article websites out their such as Ezinearticles, Searchwarp, Ideamarketers, and many more and it is free to post an article. The idea here is to write a review or an informative article on whatever your promoting. For example Ezinearticles requires a minimum of 250 words an article which is very easy to do! Some of them don't even have a minimum word count. But the more popular ones do! Write something short, sweet, and to the point using the same principles as stated above, get your article to the top pages of the Search Engines! These articles will let you put your affiliate link in your Bio box at the end of the article. Ezinearticles is an exception to this rule you have to link to a classified you made previously a blog, or Squidoo lens. They don't allow Affiliate links but the traffic is well worth it. So write away new affiliates. Tip: Hubpages, is my favorite article submission site they are one of the top 200 websites in the world so they have tons of targeted traffic. You can incorporate Google Adwords into all your hubs giving you another source of income. And my favorite part is there is no waiting to get your hubs approved, as long as there unique and written by you!
5. This is a cheap secret to get you off the ground and running! Have you ever heard of Bum Marketing? I first stumbled upon Bum Marketing a little while back, and let me tell you I am certainly glad I did! It teaches you how to grab first page listings on Google, Msn, and Yahoo. Basically all of the big search engines, but primarily Google. This system is taught by Travis Sago and really works great! I have a paid membership to U.S free ads which is only $9.99 month to post unlimited classifieds. You can add HTML, Affiliate links, Website links, your ads basically look like mini websites their pretty sharp! And what you do with the bum marketing system is research keywords that have to do with whatever your promoting. I use Google Adwords for this. Use a Highly Searched keyword phrase, with little competition. When I say little competition I mean phrases that have 50,000 listings or less! Use that phrase in your title on your u.s free ads premium membership and you are almost guaranteed a first page listing for that phrase on Google each and every time. I'm gonna give a few search engine optimization tips, geared towards beginner and intermediate affiliate marketers ! Here's some great SEO lessons, that will help all beginner online affiliate marketers to help improve there organic listing in the major search Engines such as Google, Yahoo, Or MSN. First step is to do some research on Domain names for great keyword phrases that you can potentially use! If your selling beginner affiliate marketing producs for example, use Google Adwords keyword tool and type in different things someone might type in looking for what your selling! I can't stress this enough, a proper domain name can really help you with your organic search engine rankings. Once you find a keyword phrase that is highly searched on Google, you must try and keep the listings as low as you can. make sure that the listings for that particular keyword phrase on Google are preferably under 100,000. What I mean by that, is when you type your chosen keyword phrase into Google to do a search. Make sure the listings are 200,000 or under! Why you ask? Simple the more competition you have for your keyword phrase, the harder it will be to acheive first page listings for your keyword phrase. Once you are successful at finding a great keyword phrase that is highly searched, and has low competition for that particular phrase. Buy that keyword phrase and use it as your domain name! Tip beginning affiliates: make sure the keyword phrase you ultimately select, is something you can live with. Keep in mind the domain name you ultimately buy, will be your websites name so make sure it sounds decent, and youcan live with your selection.
Your 2nd step is your meta tags these are very important. What are meta tags? Here's a quick meta tags definition:
Definition: Meta tags are hidden sections of code you enter onto your Web pages that allow the search engines to know what your page is about and index it.
Examples: Adding good meta tags to your site will make your site rank higher in the search engines. I have found it does help out quite a bit. So make sure you research good, well thought out keywords to use in your meta tags.
Put your domain name keywords, in the title of your meta tags, as well as the description meta tags at least once. But the one downfall, is they don't allow you too put clickbank ads on the classifieds that you make. So you have too link your affiliate ads to a hub, website, etc... basically redirect your classifieds to wherever your affiliate links are so you can potentially make a sale. Another negative i have learned too get around for the most part on craigslist is it seems everyone on there has nothing better too do than flag your hubs as spam. Which can be very annoying at times craigslist tip: just make sure you get your point across in your ads quickly! Don't make them too long or spammy, and make sure too put them in the correct category i use the books/magazines category for my clickbank ads a lot and link them to my website, or hub... This has cut out most of my classified ads as being flagged as spam!
Forums - This will be quick and too the point. Forums are good for a couple of reasons. Reason number 1. You can put your affiliate ads in your signature at the bottom of each and every post you make in a forum. Once you set them up once they will automatically show up in all your affiliate posts! Useful Affiliate Marketing Advertising Techniques - I Use Personally, That Work In Affiliate Marketing:
1. U.Sfreeads - Type in Bum Marketing and Google it, learn it! It shouldn't take you very long to master it. Then sign up for an account at U.Sfreeads. This is a great way to make some great affiliate commissions. I make some nice money ,just by placing ads using bum marketing. With my premium membership on U.Sfreeads.
2. Start your own website, optimize your content for the search engines. Once you understand bum marketing and you read my tips above apply them to your own personal website! It is very easy to build your own website. They have website builders on my personal favorite webhost hostgator, that guide you through the whole website building process. From picking your own website template, adding pages you want, adding content, and then publishing your website on the world wide web! This website was designed using Hostgator and I highly recommend them. Stay away from 1@1.com, I discuss them on my homepage of this website.
3. Forums - Posting on forums can be a great way to get quality traffic. Tip: use a keyword phrase in your title that is low competition, and highly searched. The search engines such as Google - index every forum post that is made , your forum post will show up in the search engines. If you use a good title, your goal is to get it on the first page of Google. Getting you some free targeted traffic, that can bring you some nice affiliate commissions! A couple great forums to post to warrior forum, conquer your niche marketing forum, and website babble.
4. Articles - such as Ezinearticles.com@Hubpages are my 2 favorite ways of getting targeted traffic to my website or affiliate links .It is free to post articles. Again when you write your own articles they only have to be 250 words at the minimum on Ezinearticles.com it is not very hard to do at all. Use the bum marketing method with a great title. To grab top rankings on the search engines such as Google. Remember you want to get to the first page of Google, for your article or hub. If your not on the first or second page for your title phrase and no-one can find it, it will be pretty much useless. Because normal surfers in general never go past the 3rd page. So your goal is to get on the first page if possible. For the most possible traffic, the more affiliate traffic you get the more money you can potentially make! Affiliate tip: After you submit an article wait till it get's indexed, then change the title by a couple words and submit it to a couple other article directories. Great places to submit articles are ideamarketers, goarticles, hubpages, and ezinearticles.com
5. Twitter - Twitter is relatively new and is getting real big with millions of Twitter accounts and growing. If your an affiliate marketer you can probably taste the potential this can have with your affiliate marketing or online business. Im still learning, but what I am doing is adding people to build up my followers on Twitter. You can also target your potential leads, by typing in to the see whats happening right now Twitter bar. For example if your marketing on relationships you can actually see people that are talking about their relationship problems. Then follow them, and hopefully they will follow you back or at the very least check out your website. This is very powerful because you get real time conversations that is very targeted, to whatever your selling! They can easily convert into paying customers on Twitter. You can also post updates on the what are you doing homepage, talking about whatever your trying to market. Be sure to put a link to your website or affiliate link in your tweets. 6. Comment On Blogs - Posting comments on blogs related to whatever your website is about, will get you a lot of free targeted traffic affiliates. Try only to post on blogs with a high page rank. This will give you more pull in the search engine rankings. Affiliate Tip: by posting to blogs with a higher google pagerank. Your links will be valued as more important, you will get more free targeted traffic, and your page rank will increase faster.
7. Start Your Own Email List - I use a company called aweber they have been around for 10 years and are a favorite among a lot of affiliate, internet marketers worldwide. So why start your own email safelist? The answer is simple once you start building up potential Targeted Double Opt-in customers that subscribe to your mailing list, you can send them emails a couple times a week with an affiliate link to a product you are trying to sell. The bigger your email list the more money you can eventually make. Whether you have your own business, or you are an affiliate marketer trying to make a nice commission building up a double opt-in email list. Building up a safelist can literally take you from rags to riches overnight. This is not spam email these are lists that people knowingly choose to subscribe too to recieve your emails. Super affiliates the ones that are laughing all the way to the bank, you know the ones I'm talking about! The affiliates were all striving to be the internet millionaires. Email marketing is a secret that a lot of affiliates don't take advantage of, it's really quite silly when you think about it! These super affiliates, or internet marketers build up massive email lists of 20,000 people plus. Think of the potential here for a sec! If there clickbank super affiliates then they pick there favorite affiliate program, write a quick email to you saying positive things about this product. Then they leave there affiliate link at the end of the email for you to click on, and hopefully buy. If you do buy, guess what happens? 7. Social Forums are a great way to get targeted affiliate traffic! Here's some great social marketing websites I personally use. myspace, facebook, tagged, and myyearbook. If you want to learn affiliate marketing correctly, and actually make some serious money in affiliate marketing social networking is a must. My personal favorite is myyearbook, its easy to add friends and affiliate market on there website! You can add links to your favorite clickbank products on your profile page which is really nice so people visiting your profile can potentially paying customers! A great social networking site for an affiliate marketer. So i highly recommend myyearbook, as my favorite social networking site for this very reason. Its an affiliate marketers paradise! Myspace@facebook are great too just for the sheer number of people, but there not real affiliate marketer friendly. But nonetheless everyones on there so they cant be overlooked! Affiliate Tip: Work on one social networking site at a time adding friends, and building up your friends list, after you have accummulated a decent amount of friends move on to your next one! Be sure to actually make some friends too, remember these people can actually turn into paying customers: Remember That!
Affiliate Lessons Do's And Dont's Find Out From My Own Personal Experiences Here's Some Quick Tips:
1. Don't: I would not recommend spending hours, and hours surfing traffic exchanges. The traffic doesn't convert very well. Tip: It can be effective if your just trying to build up an email list though - but your better off paying the $5.00 or $10.00 dollars a month for their guaranteed traffic. Traffic splash is a pretty good one for building up an email list.
2. Don't: Paying for guaranteed traffic: An example would be 10,000 guaranteed visitors for say $10.00. What I found - save your money I can almost guarantee you will not get 1 paying customer out of those 10,000 visitors. Tip: So save your affiliate money, and use it on something that actually works!
3. Do: This is a relatively new technique I picked up not to long ago: I use this on a social networking website I like to use for affiliate marketing purposes. The website I am speaking of is called myyearbook they let you add affiliate links on your profile page! Tip: You can also add friends very easily, I use the match toolbar to build up my friends list. Here's a cheap secret once you build up your friends list somewhat, you can become a gold member for like $10.00 a month. This allows you to send mass messages to everyone on your friends list at once. Sort of like a side email list , use this to your advantage!
4. Do: Pay Per Click - If you have the extra money to spend and your a beginning, intermediate, or advanced affiliate marketer. I would always recommend one of the big 3 to spend your advertising dollars on. Google, Yahoo, or Msn now known as Bing. If your a beginner, PPC can be extremely expensive if you don't know what your doing. Tip: Try to find a keyword phrase that is highly targeted to whatever product your marketing. Spend the least amount possible with your cost per click costs. Find out if that keyword phrase is profitable - if it is stick with that keyword phrase. If it's not research another keyword phrase to use.
5. Do: Please take advantage of article marketing - It's free targeted traffic, though its time consuming it is well worth the effort. Advantages: When you write a quality article people look at you as the expert. Plus you get high pageranked links pointing at your website if you have one. Tip: ezinearticles, hubpages, ideamarketers, and ehow.com are my personal favorites.

To make money online many people jump right in before they are properly prepared. You know that to be a rocket scientist, a doctor, a brick layer, a construction worker, an office worker, a teacher there are prerequisites, things you must learn, before you can be successful, you don't just jump right in unprepared.
The same applies to the Internet marketing industry even though there are unsavory people out there who'd have you believe it's a "Walk in the Park" and requires no more than the belief that you can just do it.
And I'll have to admit, it is a walk in the park compared to what you have to put up with in the working world punching a clock being a subordinate to someone who does not have your interests in mind, but there are still rules you have to follow and pitfalls you must avoid to actually make Internet marketing work for you.
Most people will not make a dime online and yet there are others who will make more in one month than most people make in a whole year. Why is that?
My answer begins with the age-old chicken or egg question, "what comes first the chicken or the egg"? Personally I vote for, well never mind, each argument you or I make comes back to the same old conclusion - I have no clue and I don't think many of us do either.
But one thing I do have a clue about and know for sure is that to make money online you must first have Passion for the company products and/or service of any Internet business from which you expect to make money.
Passion in this sense simply means that you've researched and like the company and products or services. It is then that you translate that like (or Passion) into the education, excitement and work that usually accompany Passion.
I will have to say that many online entrepreneurs are so good at what they do that they ignore passion because they can sell anything. But I'm concerned about those of you who are not so knowledgeable at working an online business successfully.
Now, I'm not trying to make anyone believe that Passion is the only thing necessary. Because to be successful you must also have a good website, good marketing, widespread advertising, company support, effective keywords, and etc. Those things are often learned from the company you join - but sidestep Passion and you reduce your chances for success dramatically.
It therefore follows that, if you have no Passion for the company and the products and services provided by that company, again, you won't attempt to do the work you are being taught.
Internet marketing work is typically not all that difficult or time consuming but it does take motivation caused by Passion to get you off and running with a sustained effort so that you won't stumble.
You have a great resource in the Internet search engines to search about the Internet Marketing industry for business opportunities, USE IT!
Your research should uncover a company that you like and have confidence in. It should be solid, founded on great principles, and easy to understand with great products and services that are sell-able for which you can have Passion. If you don't find it move on,
You can find the right opportunity containing the attributes identified above.
Comments like, well, that one sounds good and the compensation plan is excellent so I guess I'll start that business - does not sound like a decision based on anything near Passion. And remember when you hear that an Internet "guru" does that, don't be tempted, because as I said earlier they are experienced and can sell just about anything, without being Passionate about the company products and services.
Note: By the way it's your goal to get to the point where you can sell about anything online. That end skill and goal is a worthy one indeed.
Remember, there are other steps you must make before you step into Internet Marketing but if you don't first find the right company products and services to be passionate about, all of those other steps may just cause you a lot of frustration instead of bringing you great success.
Not being Passionate about a company and products and services that has market proof that it will sell is a pitfall you simply must avoid.
